Qualifications/Job Description
This position supports DSM related consulting services, particularly
with respect to DSM cost effectiveness analysis and energy impact
analysis. You will be supporting clients in their use of Integral
Analytics proprietary and sophisticated software applications, and
assisting in the enhancements, development, and application of IA
software to DSM and other customer focused issues. Candidates must
have strong analytical skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
The position requires at least three years of experience
in analysis and/or forecasting, ideally in energy related applications,
and a basic understanding of forecasting, econometrics, or statistics.
This position requires excellent computer skills, especially with
statistical and MS Office applications, with some preference afforded
to candidates with some proficiency in programming languages. Candidates
should possess a broad understanding of the regulatory, legislative,
and market environments faced by electric utilities, especially
related to energy efficiency, demand response, and resource planning
issues. The successful candidate will have excellent communication
skills, including the ability to prepare written reports and presentations,
and verbally present complex technical information in non-technical
language. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a
high level of initiative and the ability to work independently within
a high growth, collegial atmosphere. The position requires the ability
to work on multiple projects concurrently, and re-focus efforts
quickly based on shifts in regulatory or business conditions and
management priorities.
Responsibilities include:
- Writing DSM related consulting proposals, developing measurement
and verification criteria and guidelines for demand resource projects,
evaluating and designing DSM programs using DSMore, and conducting
DSM impact evaluations.
- Working with Integral Analytics clients to facilitate the use
of DSMore in the DSM program design, including sales support,
training, data collection, and data preparation.
- Analysis of regional load and price relationships using statistical
software.
- Preparing written materials, making executive level presentations,
organizing and facilitating meetings, supporting the development
of regulatory filings and testimony, and participating in technical
conferences related to demand resource planning and design.
- Supporting other Integral Analytics projects including but not
limited to T&D load flow analysis, commodity and energy asset
valuation, utility supply risk assessment, nodal marginal cost
analysis, spatial load profiling, marketing research, and customer
satisfaction analyses and studies.
Requirements include:
- BA or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Economics,
Mathematics, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and implementation
of energy efficiency, load management, and demand response projects
in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating the performance of energy
efficiency, load management, demand response, and distributed generation
projects and programs.
- Familiarity with the International Performance Measurement and
Verification Protocols (IPMVP).
- Experience analyzing performance data (including interval meter
data) from energy efficiency, load management, and demand response
programs including applying statistical methods and techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in leading an initiative from start
to finish, making executive level presentations, navigating stakeholder
and regulatory processes, and working with a diverse group of market
stakeholders to reach consensus on issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Desired, but not required: some experience in programming languages,
including SAS, SPSS, Ox, C++, GAUSS, MatLab, VBA, or related languages.
