Preference Maps
Proximity maps, surround maps, and urban pole maps, along with preference factors, are used to create preference maps. These maps drive the spatial forecasting algorithm.

This map shows the preference map for the Industrial land-use class. The white shading indicates a large score, and darker shading indicates a lower score. Existing industrial land-use are set to zero, thus they appear black.

Here you can see that industrial has large scores around areas deemed as industrial areas, with the largest scores occurring around the airport and along the highway.
